NL Plants has a vision in which sustainability plays a key role. NL Plants and Lodders Boomkwekerijen BV are therefore pioneers in the field of sustainable production. It is no coincidence that Lodders Boomkwekerijen was the first open-field tree nursery to obtain the MPS Florimark Production Certificate. Our cultivation methods are assessed annually by MPS Sustainable Quality. As a trading company, NL Plants also holds the MPS Certificate of Sustainability.
Environmentally Conscious Farming
As growers through and through, we understand better than anyone the importance of plants on our planet. We take great care to protect the environment. Sustainable and environmentally conscious cultivation is only possible if it is carried out in harmony with the environment.
It is becoming increasingly clear to the general public that plants contribute to our well-being and a better living environment. Examples include converting CO2 into oxygen (photosynthesis) and filtering the air by trapping particulate matter.
Soil Structure
Our sustainable farming begins with ensuring good soil structure. Before the start of each growing season, we implement soil structure improvement measures.
Soil life is stimulated by adding compost tea and beneficial soil organisms. We strive to create a natural balance in the soil that minimizes the risk of diseases and pests.
